BREAKING NEWS: Two Charged Following Shooting, Raid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Charges have been filed following a fatal Monday night shooting and a Tuesday morning raid.

Two Fort Wayne men have been arrested.  Twenty-four year old Charles Benson is charged with murder and possession of firearm  Twenty-five year-old Marcus Lindsay is held on a felony count of assisting a criminal.

Authorities took the two men into custody Tuesday after serving a warrant on Maumee Avenue. A total of five people were questioned, but three others were released without charges. During the operation, a portion of Maumee Avenue was closed, and Indiana Tech was placed on lockdown.

Police teamed up with federal agents to enter the home.

Witnesses say SWAT units and an armored vehicle was also at the scene. 


The action came less than 12 hours after a Monday night  shooting left 26-year old John Holman mortally wounded on Eby Avenue. The coroner's office has ruled Holman's death is the 11th homicide of the year in Allen County. </p>
