FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne-Allen County Capital Improvement Board has reached a deal that would give the Grand Wayne Center room to expand if necessary.
The News-Sentinel reports the Board agreed to spend $6-million to buy the so-called “fast food block” to the west, which is where three restaurants currently reside and will be allowed to stay, at least until the property is needed for another use.
It’s worth noting there are no current plans to expand the Grand Wayne Center, but this purchase now makes such a move possible.
The CIB plans on making the purchase in two stages, since they recently dropped $45-million on a bond for the Electric Works project.
