NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana man already condemned to death for killing a 75-year-old family friend has pleaded guilty in the 2002 slaying of a Florida woman.
Louisville, Ky., television stations report William Clyde Gibson entered the plea under an agreement with prosecutors Thursday morning and was sentenced to 65 years in prison by a Floyd County judge.
Gibson admitted to the stabbing death of 45-year-old Karen Hodella from Port Orange, Fla.
Gibson was given a death sentence last fall after jurors convicted him of killing his mother's best friend, Christine Whitis, during a 2012 attack in New Albany, just across the Ohio River from Louisville.
Gibson faces a third murder charge in the death of 35-year-old Stephanie Kirk of Charlestown. Her remains were found buried in Gibson's backyard.
