INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Professors from universities in Indiana and environmental and industry groups are scheduled to meet in Indianapolis to talk about ways to help the state better plan for water emergencies and contamination and to determine research needs.
 
Purdue professor of agronomy Ron Turco, a conference organizer, says Indiana has some contamination issues and some supply issues. He says planning is lacking.
 
The Purdue Water Community will lead the conference Friday at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis. The event will consist of sessions with experts talking on subjects related to the conference title of “Defining Indiana's Water Needs: Research and Solutions.''
 
The Purdue Water Community coordinates water-related research, teaching and engagement to improve and sustain human and ecosystem health.
