Coroner Says 4 Slain Had Multiple Gunshot Wounds

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A coroner says four people found dead in a southern Indiana home at the weekend suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Bartholomew County Coroner Larry Fisher tells The Associated Press that all four were shot in various parts of their bodies and that the female homeowner was stabbed several times.

Authorities haven’t released any information about motives or suspects in the deaths in Katheryn Burton’s home in the small community of Waynesville, about five miles south of Columbus.

The dead include the 53-year-old Burton and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Thomas Smith. Also killed were two 41-year-old Columbus men, Aaron Cross and Shawn Burton, who were friends of the couple.

Police say Katheryn Burton’s son discovered the bodies Saturday night.

The county sheriff’s department has scheduled a Tuesday news conference in Columbus.
