DeKalb County Crash Injures Two

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Two people were hurt in a possible drunk driving crash in DeKalb County Friday night.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a 2000 Dodge Van was completely destroyed after 30-year-old Kyle King of Waterloo drove off the road in the 800 block of County Road 34 and hit a utility pole, then a tree, and finally overturned in a nearby creek. King was trapped inside the vehicle when rescuers arrived, but his passenger, 22-year-old Shila Stone of Waterloo, had been partially ejected from the vehicle and had to be hospitalized with a broken pelvis. Kyle suffered some cuts and bruises.

Police say they don't yet know why Kyle's vehicle left the road, but they do believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
