FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Delta Air Lines is adding some new flights to Atlanta from Fort Wayne. Officials at the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority announced Tuesday afternoon, that beginning July 1, 2014 Delta will operate its mid-day flight to Atlanta (ATL) from Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) with a 76-seat regional jet offering first class service.

In addition to a larger aircraft, the carrier will also be adding another daily flight to ATL beginning September 2, 2014.

“FWA’s flights to Atlanta have operated at or near capacity for some time now and we’re confident this route can support additional seats,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports for the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority. “We hope travelers will enjoy the added flexibility Delta has given us in Fort Wayne, specifically those loyal fliers who will likely take advantage of first class service.”
