Distracted Driving Blitz Nets Nearly 2,000 Citations

INDIANA, (WOWO): The numbers are in for Indiana, which was one of six states in which police targeted distracted drivers.

Officers report an unprecedented number of citations, not only in the Hoosier State, but also Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. The blitz, last week, resulted in nearly 2,000 citations for distracted driving; including people caught texting and talking on their cell phone in illegal zones. During this same time frame, there were more than 200 collisions reported involving distracted driving throughout the six state region.
