Fight Over Drugs Blamed for Fort Wayne Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): Police say a fatal shooting during which dozens of shots were fired on a city street apparently stemmed from accusations of stolen drugs and money.

Prosecutors have charged 25-year-old Charles Benson with murder for the Monday night death of 26-year-old John Holman.

Police spokesman Michael Joyner tells The Journal Gazette that investigators were searching for a man believed to have also fired shots and sought out the attack.

Court documents say the man believed Holman broke into his home and that they fought at a bar Sunday night. Holman was shot while inside a van on Eby Street.

Court records don't list an attorney for Benson. He is jailed without bond and is scheduled back in court Monday.
