Financial Services Company Calls It Quits

A financial services company that had more than 200 employees in Evansville just over a year ago says it’s going to reduce its work force to about 25 and close its call center in southwestIndiana.

Vantiv Incorporated filed a notice this week with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development saying the Evansville employees would lose their jobs about March 1st.

The company had about 205 employees in September 2011, but has since reduced that number to about 50 after deciding to move its call center from Evansville to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Vantiv is based. Vantiv handles payment processing for merchants and financial institutions.

Vantiv spokeswoman Lynn Rhoads tells the Evansville Courier and Press that number will be reduced to about 25, who will work from home.
