Flood Watch to Take Effect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): On the brink of celebrating warm temperatures, a flood watch has been issued. It will go into effect Thursday morning and last until late Thursday night. The watch covers northern Indiana and northwest Ohio. Forecasters say snow and ice on the ground has a large amount of stored water, and that along with rains in the forecast Thursday, combine for some possible flooding. So, if you're on the roads, here are some tips from the Indiana State Police:

*Always carry a cell phone and charger with you

*Never drive around barricades at water crossings

*Be especially careful at night or early morning as it can be tough to see water and its depth
