Charges filed against Huntington shooting suspect

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO) – Charges have been filed against a man arrested in Fort Wayne Saturday.

Joseph Anthony Mills Jr. was taken into custody Saturday on an unrelated outstanding warrant, but was transported to the Huntington Police Department Annex for questioning in reference to last Friday’s shooting.

Following the interview, Mills was transported to the Huntington County Jail and charged with the following:

 

  • Carrying a Handgun without a License (Level 5 Felony)
  • Criminal Recklessness while Armed with a Deadly Weapon (Level 6 Felony)
  • Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

The shooting victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower back, and was treated and released at Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne.
