NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): A former New Haven teacher has been sentenced to prison for having sex with a student.

Troy Guenin was sentenced Wednesday to four years of prison, followed by four years of probation. In July, he agreed to plead guilty to felony child seduction and felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors. 

Parents of the New Haven High School student found a large number of texts between Guenin and the student. The victim admitted to officers that she had sex with Guenin 10 to 15 times since January. 

Guenin had been a teacher with East Allen County Schools since 2005, but was fired when the investigation began.
