84-year-old Leesburg man killed in single-vehicle crash Monday morning

LEESBURG, Ind. (WOWO): The person who died in a single-vehicle crash early Monday, May 30, morning was a 84-year-old Leesburg man.

Richard E. Prescott died from blunt force injuries that he sustained during the crash, according to the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

At about 4 a.m. Monday, police were called to Armstrong Road near C.R. 200 East. When office arrived, the found a SUV “fully engulfed in flames.”

After firefighters extinguished the fire, they found Prescott dead inside vehicle.

Police believe the SUV was traveling eastbound on Armstrong road when it left the roadway. The SUV then struck a tree head-on and caught on fire.
