FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The city utilities department in Fort Wayne has discovered a potential clerical error on some customers’ utility bills.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, the error may have resulted in the incorrect billing totals on a number of utility bills. However, the amount is minimal.

The error may also effect customers who are signed up for monthly automatic payments.

A statement was released by City Utilities- 

“City Utilities is investigating a server failure that caused a computer glitch to its billing system this week. In some cases the glitch caused an error in bills. Our staff is reviewing all recent bills and is working to correct the issue city utilities requests customers to pay the amount due, and adjustments, either up or down, will be made in the next billing cycle.”
