Fort Wayne house fire damages home, but residents escape unharmed

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Four Fort Wayne residents escaped a house fire Thursday morning but the fire caused significant damages to part of the house.

Police say the fire damaged most of the roof and chimney at 2531 Clinton St. N.

When the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the fire around 9:50 a.m. they noticed fire coming from the chimney, according to a press release.

It took the department 12 minutes to get the fire under control.

The fire cause Clinton street to be shut down for about an hour and investigators have ruled the fire an accident.
