Fort Wayne man accused of raping mentally disabled person

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is accused of raping and sexually assaulting a mentally disabled person multiple times during a three month period.

Gary D. Stinger, 48, is charged with rape when the victim is mentally disabled and sexual battery when the victim is mentally disabled, according to ours news partners 21Alive.

Police were called to Covington Manor Nursing Home in Fort Wayne on May 3 on reports of a molesting incident. A nursing assistant told police she saw Stinger sexually assaulting the victim, according to court documents.

Police attempted to interview the victim, but the she has severe brain damage from a crash. Medical officials say she functions at a 3-year-old level.

Stinger admitted he had oral sex the victim multiple times from January to May 3.
