Fort Wayne Man Allegedly Scams $128K From Indianapolis Woman

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): An accused Fort Wayne scam artist is finally in custody.

Police in Marion County say that Carnelle Dewayne Rutledge is accused of stealing over $128,000 from an Indianapolis woman he met on the dating site “Plenty of Fish”.

Our partners in news at 21Alive report he portrayed himself as a sports agent to the victim between September and December of 2011. He said the fund would be used for business purposes involving Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and Memphis Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph and promised the woman she would be repaid.

There may be others involved in the crime as the investigation continues.
