Fort Wayne May Treat Huntertown’s Waste-Water and Sewage

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Controversy continues on the treatment methods of Fort Wayne's water system.

Huntertown residents may soon have their waste-water and sewage treated by Fort Wayne utilities.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) held a public hearing last November on whether to extend utility services 4 miles outside Huntertown limits. The hearing mentioned if Huntertown should pay Fort Wayne utilities wholesale or retail for waste-water treatment.

21Alive reports Eel River Township residents spoke at a council meeting Monday night on their frustrations, as they are within the four mile radius.

The IURC told residents they would have a final recommendation by the end of January; however, that hasn't yet been released.
