FWCS Students To Get Paper ISTEP Tests

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Students at Fort Wayne Community Schools will be getting a paper version of the ISTEP tests.

The news comes a day after the district announced they would postpone ISTEP tests after having trouble Wednesday connecting to the electronic version of the test during practice runs. WOWO has reached out to the district to determine when the tests will be given to students.

FWCS was one of a few districts in the state complaining of connection issues to the ISTEP online test this week. Those other districts are also waiting to hear from the state whether they will be allowed to give out a paper test.

Despite the reported problems, Department of Education spokesman Dan Altman says there have been no major glitches on the first day of the online portion of ISTEP statewide. The testing window opened Thursday and stays open until May 15th.
