FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne high schools will see security upgrades.

The Fort Wayne Community Schools board approved spending a little more than $311,000 Monday night to install new security cameras at Wayne and South Side High Schools, according to the Journal Gazette.

FWCS Security Director Dottie Davis says the new system will include remote access for authorized personnel and should provide a better resolution for recordings, if they’re ever needed.

The board plans to have a more formal school security discussion at a work session in the near future, while East Allen County Schools will be holding their own week’s worth of school safety meetings, starting next Monday in Leo.
