FWPD Arrest Gang Member in 5-Hour Standoff

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A known gang member was arrested last night after a 5-hour standoff with police at a home on Warsaw Street.

Fort Wayne Police were aware 21-year-old Ku-La Lwin was armed and stored weapons inside the house.

The Fort Wayne Police Emergency Services Unit and Crisis Response Team arrived to the scene around 3 p.m. They made numerous attempts to call the suspect on the phone, as well as using loud speakers to have the suspect exit the house. The suspect still refused.

After several hours, officers eventually went into the house and took Lwin into custody.
