FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department wants to help you protect your valuables.

They have created a new form that helps people properly document their personal property. This form helps the owner as well as law enforcement and insurance companies if a burglary or theft happens. 

The FWPD says a lot of burglaries and thefts are never recovered because they're not properly documented. If you don't want to mark jewelry, you can take a photo of it instead.
