Huntertown Approves Metered Sewer Rate Structure

the Hunter-town Council talked about new sewer rates last night at a public hearing held at the Huntertown Hall. Local residents were given a change to speak out about the possible rate increase.  The council voted unanimously to change utility rates over to a metered system by the first of next year, that will base sewer rates on water consumption.  Utility customers who now pay a flat rate of $21.25 a month will typically pay about $35 a month, under the new rate structure, if they use about 5,000 gallons of water.
