Indiana Parents of Vegas Gunman Express Shock, Sympathy

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) _ The parents of the man who police say went on a rampage in Las Vegas with his wife, killing two police officers and a third person, have posted a note on expressing sympathy to the victims' families.

The note on the door at the Lafayette home of Jerad Miller's parents says, “We wish to express our greatest sympathies, thoughts and prayers to the families who have lost their loved ones in this horrible act of violence.''

The note goes on to say, “We are profoundly saddened, confused and in shock over the senseless actions of our son and his wife.'' It asks for “privacy during this unbelievable difficult time.''

Tippecanoe County booking records for Miller show arrests since June 2007 for criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm, battery and drug charges.
