Indiana State Police Investigating Officer Involved Shooting

PENDLETON, Ind. (WOWO):

Indiana State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Pendleton. That shooting happend during a traffic stop just after 4:30 yesterday on Interstate 69 near the Pendleton/Lapel exit when a man exited the stopped vehicle and reportedly pulled a knife on law enforcement officers.

One of the officers deployed a taser which was ineffective. The suspect charged officers – one of whom opened fire. The suspect died later at a local hospital.
