INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A federal judge has dismissed a civil lawsuit filed against one of three men who were with an Indiana University student the night she disappeared in 2011.
 
U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt says Michael Beth offered 20-year-old Lauren Spierer a place to sleep when his roommate, Corey Rossman, brought her intoxicated to their apartment. When she refused, he escorted her to the nearby apartment of Jason Rosenbaum.
 
Spierer's parents, Charlene and Robert Spierer of Greenburgh, N.Y., claimed Beth, Rossman and Rosenbaum didn't ensure the incapacitated woman returned safely to her apartment after a night of partying in Bloomington. 
 
Rossman's and Rosenbaum's attorneys also argued for the dismissal of the cases against their clients Monday. Pratt says she'll rule by year's end.
 
The Spierers didn't comment on Pratt's ruling.
