Last of 5 Defendants Plead Guilty In Richmond Man’s Death

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) _ An eastern Indiana man who pleaded guilty to a drug-related slaying is the last of five co-defendants to enter a guilty plea in that March 2012 killing.

Twenty-year-old Robert W. Campbell pleaded guilty Friday to murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery in the killing of 48-year-old Michael Sekse. His sentencing is set for Feb. 6.

Prosecutor Michael Shipman wants the maximum sentence for each count, to be served consecutively. Defense attorney Jeffrey Arnold wants concurrent sentences below the maximum.

The Palladium-Item reports (http://pinews.co/1DldFUa ) Campbell admitted to shooting Sekse during a robbery in a shed behind a Richmond home.

Shipman says a pathology report identified the gunshot wound as the most immediate cause of Sekse's death. Sekse was being stabbed by Campbell's four co-defendants when he was shot.
