Laundromat Offering Free Washes to Low-Income Opens Soon

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A southwestern Indiana laundromat that'll offer free washes to those in need is set to open soon.

WFIE-TV in Evansville (http://bit.ly/1WWbCP4) reports that the final touches are being put on the Jack Henry Gates Memorial Community Laundromat. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held next week.

Organizers say they saw a need in the community.

The laundromat will take tokens instead of money. The tokens will be distributed by six local churches.

The laundromat will be open four days a week.
