Less Wait Times at Fort Wayne VA, Per National Study

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Veterans needing non-emergency care at the Fort Wayne VA Medical Center typically don't have to wait as long as others nationwide.

That's according to a federal study by the Associated Press, which examined wait times at VA Medical Centers nationwide over a recent seven month period.

Across the country, veterans waited for more than 31 days for non-emergency care about 2.8 percent of the time. At the Fort Wayne VA, they had to wait more than 31 days for the same care only about 1.5 percent of the time.

The figures come after President Barack Obama signed legislation last summer to improve services at VA centers nationwide.
