Senate Committee Mulls IPFW Future Direction

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A bill that could mean changes for IPFW will is goes before the Senate Appropriations committee today.

The proposal calls for Indiana and Purdue to work together to how the campus will be administered.

Chairman Luke Kenley says focused largely on the direction of the university and a review of curriculum. It's part of the Senate budget bill.The push to have IPFW govern its self has been a hot topic in recent years.

In January, Purdue President Mitch Daniels called for the state's higher education commission to classify IPFW as a metropolitan university.
