Man in Critical Condition after Semi Accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Just after midnight this morning, Fort Wayne fire crews were called to the scene of a single vehicle semi accident on I-69 southbound at the Goshen exit (309). Officials say a semi went off the roadway and ran through the concrete barrier, before crashing into a hillside. The load of cabbage the truck was carrying spilled over the front of the vehicle, on top of the driver who was pinned in the wreckage. Crews worked for 2 hours before the decision was made to amputate a portion of the victim's leg. The roadway was closed down throughout the morning for cleanup, causing a lot of slowdowns.
