FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Students from Fort Wayne area private high schools are ending a trip to Washington D.C. early because of the blizzard forecasted for the East Coast.

Buses left Fort Wayne on Wednesday night and will leave Washington D.C. on Friday morning, according to Ashley Wiehe, communications manager for Concordia Lutheran High School.

Students were going to hold the banner at the front of the 43rd annual March for Life scheduled for Friday.

Concordia Lutheran High School, Blackhawk Christian School, Lakewood Park School and Right to Life of North Central Indiana are traveling together

“We have made the tough decision to head back to Fort Wayne now and not march this year in the March for Life,” Wiehe said. “Our students’ safety is our up-most concern.”

Wiehe said leaving Friday morning would keep the students in front of the storm.
