WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) _ Purdue University is planning a campus-wide moment of silence to mark the one-year anniversary of a student's killing at the hands of a classmate.
Purdue Student Government Vice President Caroline McKinney tells WLFI-TV the idea behind Wednesday's noon-hour vigil for Andrew Boldt is for all students, professors and faculty members “to take a moment and pause wherever they are.''</span>
Investigators say Cody Cousins of Warsaw, Indiana, attacked the 21-year-old Boldt on Jan. 21, 2014, before a classroom filled with students. The West Bend, Wisconsin, man died after being shot five times and stabbed.
Cousins was sentenced in September to 65 years in prison after pleading guilty to murder in Boldt's killing. He took his own life in a state prison in October.
