HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO) — Huntington is going green this fall with 500 new trees planned for city parks, lawns, and public spaces.
The “Oaktober” program comes after securing funding from American Forests and the USDA Forest Service.
City Forester Emily Hayes, hired this spring, is leading the effort, using an Urban Tree Inventory to plant smarter and grow a stronger, healthier canopy across neighborhoods.
