TOLEDO, Ohio (WOWO): An off-duty nurse practitioner is being credited with providing critical assistance to victims after a shooting at Toledo’s Old West End Festival left a dozen people wounded, according to WTVG.

WTVG reports that Whitney Beachum sprang into action Saturday evening after gunfire erupted during the festival, rushing to provide medical aid to those who had been injured.

According to the station, 12 people were wounded in the shooting. Authorities have said all of the victims are expected to recover.

Beachum told WTVG she relied on her medical training to assist victims in the chaotic moments following the gunfire while emergency responders were making their way to the scene.

The shooting remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details about a suspect or a possible motive.

WTVG reports that despite the large number of injuries, no fatalities were reported, and all of those wounded are expected to survive.
