Officer Battered in Weekend Skirmish

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local man faces several charges after a scuffle with an off-duty police officer at a local bar.

Adam Scott faces a felony count of battery causing bodily injury to a police officer as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement and public intoxication.

According to police documents, the officer was working security early Sunday morning, when Scott fought being removed from Skully's Boneyard Bar and Grill.

After the officer identified himself, the suspect allegedly kneed the officer at least twice, including once in the groin. Scott's friends attempted to prevent the officer from making the arrest. Only when he threatened to taser the suspect and his friends back, was the officer able to make the arrest.

The investigation continues, no word if other arrests were made.
