Ohio Man Sentenced to 24 Years for Raping Women Met Online

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – A central Ohio man has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for raping women that he met online.

Twenty-five-year-old Terry Smith Jr. was sentenced Thursday to four years for each of the six women he is accused of raping.

The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1FLqtXh ) reports Smith pleaded guilty to the charges last month as part of a plea agreement that saw six charges of kidnapping dropped.

Smith was charged after two women accused him of rape. He then gave investigators names of other women he had raped going back to October 2013. Police say that in some cases, women agreed to have sex with Smith, but he then forced them into certain sex acts.

Smith met most of the women on POF.com, the Plenty of Fish dating website.
