Pointe Mouillee Game Area Searched amid Missing Woman Case

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) _ Dozens of law enforcement officers have searched Pointe Mouillee Game Area in southeastern Michigan for a woman missing since a Halloween party last year.

The Monroe News reports officials involved in the search for 22-year-old Chelsea Bruck of Maybee took advantage of melted snow to look Thursday along the Lake Erie shoreline in Monroe County's Berlin Township. WWJ-AM reports state police, border patrol and firefighters participated in the search, which ended about 2 p.m.

Police have received hundreds of tips since Bruck vanished. Two people are charged with lying to investigators.

The Monroe County sheriff's department says there's no evidence that Bruck was hurt or killed, but her October 26th disappearance has prompted searches in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. About 600 people attended the party in nearby Frenchtown Township.
