Ohio Reports 5.1 Percent Unemployment Rate for February

 COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – The state says Ohio's unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in February, unchanged from the previous two months.

Friday's report from the state's Department of Job and Family Services shows Ohio had 291,000 unemployed workers in February, down about 2,000 from January. Ohio's February unemployment rate was lower than the same month in 2014, when it was 6.2 percent.

Ohio's jobless rate is below the national rate for February of 5.5 percent, which dropped slightly from the previous month.

The latest Ohio data shows employment gains in industries including construction, manufacturing, leisure, hospitality, and trade, transportation and utilities.
