The Life of a Showgirl is officially out. I already have a favorite track, of course. Taylor absolutely slayed with ‘CANCELLED’, but the fact that she used the English spelling of the word still confuses me. There are numerous subliminal messages and Easter eggs in the way she’s promoted this album and in the lyrics themselves. I have to say, though, I am a little sad that The Tortured Poets Department era is over. It was definitely one of my favorite albums, and arguably it was one of Taylor’s top 3 lyrically. The album art, however, from this album is most definitely top 5. The next question is, will there be a tour? I’m already in the ticket queue.
Latin artist Bad Bunny is headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show, which has sparked much online debate. Is this a political move? Was he the first choice? No matter which side of the debate you’re on in any of the conversations, I think the undeniable truth is that he’s got some great songs, and it will be an epic halftime.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are getting a divorce after 19 years of marriage. Sources say the couple had been quietly separated and had faith they would work it out before actually filing for divorce. Kidman says she’s devastated and requested to be the primary parent for their two children. People close to the couple say they began to grow in separate directions because they were so busy that the distance grew too far.
Taylor Swift revealed she had introduced Travis Kelce to Kindred Lubeck, who designed her ring, a year and a half before he popped the question. She said in an interview that as soon as the ring was on her finger, she said, “I know who made this! I know who made this!” Swift also recalled thinking how sweet it was that he listened to her and knew her so well. “It was like, you really know me. I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex,” Swift said. She also revealed Travis’s favorite song off her new album is “Opalite,” which is a nod to his birthstone. As a lifetime Swiftie, it is just adorable to see Taylor behave like every other woman in love and show off her ring to people as they ask; she really is just a girl.
