Over $71,000 Raised for Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Over $71,000 was raised during a recent Kroger Zoo Day for the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.

Kroger Zoo Day took place on May 13th at Kroger and Scott's stores in Northeast Indiana. 3-percent of sales were donated on May 13th to go to the Children's Zoo. The store announced that it raised $50,000 for the zoo from sales that day. 

It also was able to raise $21,727 through $1 donations between May 3rd and May 16th. In return for their donation, customers were given a birthday candle to place on cake banners at each store. The Kroger on East Dupont raised almost a quarter of the total raised at over $5,300, leading all stores.
