Paulding County Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting

PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WOWO) — A 34-year-old Mark Center man is dead and a 72-year-old homeowner is facing a murder charge following a shooting Monday night in Washington Township.

Paulding County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home at 19915 Road 72 at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, August 31, after receiving a report that a man had been shot.

Deputies found 34-year-old Logan D. Moss in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies provided medical aid to Moss until Grover Hill EMS arrived and took over treatment.

Moss was transported to OhioHealth in Van Wert, where he was pronounced dead.

The homeowner, identified by deputies as 72-year-old Alfred B. Conner, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

Conner was transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation before being taken to jail.

Authorities said Conner will initially be charged with one count of murder, an unclassified felony.

The case is expected to be turned over to the Paulding County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further review.

The investigation remains ongoing.
