Police: Indianapolis man killed in fight over dog…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Authorities have released an Indianapolis man who they say fatally shot another man in an apparent dispute over a dog.

Indianapolis police said Friday that 26-year-old Albert Rogers was released because he had a valid gun permit and both men were brandishing weapons. Police say the case will be turned over to prosecutors for review.

Rogers had been taken into custody soon after the Thursday night shooting death of 31-year-old Joshua Tucker at a home on the city's south side.

Sgt. Kendale Adams says detectives believe the men had an ongoing dispute over a dog. No further details were immediately released about the dispute.
