INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A central Indiana police organization that seeks to foster community support for law enforcement agencies is working to provide gunshot trauma kits to be used by police officers in emergencies. 

The Indianapolis Police Foundation and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge (hash)86 will gather Thursday at Banker's Life Fieldhouse with representatives from several central Indiana police departments to pack 180 kits. 

FOP Vice President Rick Snyder says the organization has been able to provide 1,500 kits to Indianapolis police officers because of community and business support and is now expanding to other departments.

The 180 kits packed will be distributed to officers from the Airport, Cumberland, Lawrence and Speedway police departments. Each kit costs about $100 to put together.
