NATIONAL, (WOWO) — The U.S. Department of Justice is suing ProMedica, accusing four former nursing homes of delivering dangerously poor care-from ignored hygiene to untreated wounds.

The DOJ says the substandard conditions spanned from 2017 to 2023.

ProMedica calls the lawsuit baseless, saying the claims involve facilities it acquired during the bankruptcy of HCR ManorCare and insists it worked to improve care standards before later divesting.
