Purdue University Officials: “No ongoing threat.”

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WOWO):  Purdue officials are sending alerts issuing no ongoing threat to campus after PUPD checked door to door in reference to shots fired.

A text message sent shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday told them there was a “report of shots fired in the area of Purdue Village Building 139. Avoid the area.”

Purdue spokeswoman Liz Evans says campus police dispatch had received one report of the possible shots being fired but was not able to immediately confirm the report.
