WARSAW, Ind. (WOWO): Two people from Huntington suffered severe head injuries after a semi ran into their moped in Warsaw.

It happened Friday night before 9 p.m. on Old Road 30 and C.R. 250 W in Warsaw near Atwood, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

31-year-old Dustin Thompson’s moped was hit from behind by the semi, pushing him and 61-year-old Latanna Thompson off the road.

Latanna Thompson was thrown from the moped. She was flown by a Parkview Samaritan helicopter to a South Bend hospital in critical condition.

Dustin Thompson also had head injuries and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Investigators say the driver of the semi didn’t see the moped due to limited visibility from the sunset.
