Severe Thunderstorms Causing Several Power Outages

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Severe thunderstorms are making their way through the area with wind gusts up to 60 mph and because of the weather, several people within the WOWO listening area are currently without power. As of 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, Indiana Michigan Power had roughly 9,000 customers without power.


In Allen County, there are roughly 246 customers without power.


According to a statement released by I&M, crews are responding to various outages and assessing the damage. Meanwhile, there is no estimated times of restoration.


Customers can report their outages or downed power lines online at www.indianamichiganpower .com or by calling 1-800-311-4634 (IN) or 1-800-311-4624 (MI).


Kosciusko REMC also released an statement about their power outages. They are currently reporting roughly 3,000 outages in the northern part of Kosciusko county due to the storm. The projected restoration time is between 1-2 hours.
