Oregon Man Hospitalized after Crash on U.S. 30

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A man from Oregon is hospitalized with serious head injuries after colliding with a semi-trailer on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.

Investigators say 78 year-old Elmer Troyer of Middlebury was behind the wheel of the semi at U.S. 30 and County Road 750 West and inadvertently pulled into the path of a van.

Sheriff's Deputies were called to the scene around 2:45 p.m., Monday and discovered the van pinned underneath a semi tractor-trailer. The driver of the van, identified as 73 year-old Leland Kidder had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was airlifted from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital.
